Sloe Gin
Traditionally made, small batch Sloe Gin crafted with wild sloes picked on the farm and surrounding field
Sloes, the fruit of the blackthorn bush are a dark blue bitter fruit harvested in late Autumn, producing a wonderfully delicious ruby red drink when soaked in gin and sugar and left to mature, exactly the same way it was made hundreds of years ago.
Melton Mowbray Sloe Gin has a distinctive warm and fruity flavour to compliment any occasion. Normally it's drunk neat as a winter warmer, or after dinner as an accompaniment to cheese.
It can also be mixed with tonic and ice or lemonade to make a refreshing summer quencher.
Cocktail Suggestion
Sloe Royale is traditionally made with champagne and used to celebrate special occasions. For a twist on the classic, try it with prosecco.
Ingredients:
– 25ml Melton Mowbray Sloe Gin
– 75ml Champagne
Method:
1. Add your Melton Mowbray Sloe Gin to a Champagne flute.
2. Top your glass up with Champagne.
3. For a festive touch, you could consider adding some edible glitter or garnish with a cherry.
